New Food Hall Developed by Chef Franklin Becker Opens at Columbia’s Manhattanville Campus

The chefs of Manhattanville market perform a ribbon cutting inside the food hall.

In a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local community leaders and elected officials, Manhattanville Market, a new multi-concept food hall developed by renowned Chef Franklin Becker opened its doors to a festive and hungry crowd on June 24,2021. 

Located in Jerome L. Greene Science Center at Columbia’s Manhattanville campus, the food hall features a diverse range of culinary concepts including Sous Chef Chris Scott’s Butterfunk Biscuit for biscuit sandwiches, and three restaurants from Chef Becker: Benny Casanova’s, specializing in Sicilian pizza; Shai Hummusiya, serving Mediterranean and Israeli cuisine; and The Botanist, offering salads made from greens grown on site.  Oliva, a Spanish tapas bar and sit-down restaurant, opened on September 28, 2021 on the upper level.

Manhattanville Market is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for takeout, delivery, and indoor and outdoor dining.  The Market joins Dear Mama Coffee and Steep Rock Bouldering in completing the street level retail storefronts in the Jerome L. Greene Science Center.
